The next EAAS regional meeting will be in Rwanda

The leadership of the East African Astronomical society (EAAS) decided that the next annual regional workshop of the society will take place in Rwanda. The emphasis of the workshop will be the science of radio astronomy and its data reduction. Given the development of Radio Astronomy in the African continent and in the East African region through Kenya’s involvement in The Square Kilometer Array (SKA) project, the society believes that the theme of the workshop is very beneficial for the region.

According to the committee of EAAS responsible for the organization of the workshop, the coming workshop is expected to have a different format than the previous three in many ways and they are working on various ways that help the society increase the number of participants both from the region and outside the region. The detail of the meeting will soon be communicated to the astronomy community.
